A couple of announcments...I've received news that Tracy Stubblebine (Bud Stubblebine's daughter...Elwood Jr's. kid) out of the Cleveland, Ohio area is getting married on May 23rd! They've created thier own wedding web site, and you can visit it by going to http://www.avana.net/~jpp/wedding/. I've received a picture of them, and I'll try to post it shortly!
Joseph R. Stubblebine (the curator of this site) is also getting married to Suzanne DesRosiers on May 16th.
I apologize for not updating this site recently...I've been very busy planning our wedding! Keep that info coming, though!
How it all Started....This site had been an idea of mine for several years, but I just never got around to developing it. However, I recently was invited to a party of a John B. Stubblebine of Cupertino, CA, who incidentally works at the same company as my father, John F. Stubblebine. These Johns had never met, but often received each other's voice mail and e-mail, and John B. got wind through my father that I was going to be in San Francisco on business, and invited me to his house for a house renovation party. So, I headed to Cupertino to meet a Stubblebine family I have never known. It was quite an experience knocking on the door of a stranger's house, and simply saying "hello…I'm Joseph Stubblebine." They welcomed me in, and for the next several hours, we discussed our lineage, and got to know one another. I met JM Stubblebine, who is the father of John B., and I met John B.'s brother Paul. I met Julie Stubblebine, (who incidentally has the same name as MY sister), and I met a bunch of other wonderful people. It was obvious that these were relatives from the distant past, and I promised them and myself that I would embark on this web site so we can all learn more about ourselves. I thought....wouldn't be neat to see what comes out of all of this? Professions, eye color, cause of death, average life span...all of these things would be discovered by piecing our tree back together! Who knows what could come of all of this? New friends, business contacts, or maybe just a feeling of satisfaction for all who participate. This site is your site, and this site is my site...it is our site. I want to know more about you! Show me where you fit into the family tree! Send me articles, pictures, memoirs, and we'll add them to the unique treasure that is our name. It is my intention that you sit back and enjoy as the romance, mystery, intrigue, scandal, and heroic efforts of your lineage is unfolded before you in the following pages, and you'll come away with a unique appreciation of you are -- a Stubblebine! |
